Hi,
1 MHz? This is FAR beyond the capability of ANY PC based hardware that uses
Windows. 1KHz is not even possible over the RS-232 port, though it would be
over a parallel port.
The Windows serial port driver "de-glitches" the RS-232 hardware input
lines. Any transition that does not meet a minimum standard duration
(surely in excess of 1 mS) will be ignored.
