Hi Brian,
i agree fully with the aspect of security.
But then - please dear vista - give me a place in the registry, where i can
store an information across all users :-)
I promise, that i'm fully aware, that some bad guy could change this
information, but i don't mind, because my program will look for that
posibility.
99.8 % Users won't mess with the registry and that's enough for me.
(to store a file in the common folder is not my favorite)
The task is simple like that:
any user on the pc should be able to connect to database at a locoal server,
or register the program by a key.
This path and the key(a little bit changed :-) ) is saved - to the registry
in HKLM System - until now - and all other users at this pc don't have to
bother.
(Every other information i store anyway in HKCU where it belongs)
Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?
Tx - Alice
