Hi,
I've made an application, which enables one to control a remote PC
over a network. It uses screen capturing and lots of different other
methods/functions. It works fine on my PC, and on several other ones.
I tried to install it in a computer class at some school and it shows
odd behaviour there. OFFICE 2k SR1 is installed on those machines and
it keeps giving me an error, although I did not call any office
programs/functions. There's just the explorer and my application, and
this error still appears.
The windows installer opens and seems to search for sources for office
2k.
1706 - Sources not found...
The only thing I can do is, that I insert the CD and it will install
the needed(???) files. It works fine, then, but I'd have to
reinstall/repeat this procedure for EVERY user account on this
network, ~700.
What can I do now ?
I already tried :
Disable Windows Installer --- Didn't work, was no acceptable solution.
Reinstall Office 2k -- Same error.
DeInstall Office 2k -- Error did not appear then.
Install Office Regfix, SP3, etc... -- Did not help.
Insert CD / Install the additional files. -- Fixed, but only for the
current user...
Next tries :
RegMon/FileMon --> Install additional files, note changes made to
registry. Apply them after User Login...
It's not possible to upgrade Office because of License Rights. Is
there any API function, which is influenced by Office ?!
I'd appreciate your help, it is urgent. If there's need for additional
information, ask me or post your questions here.
Jakob
