\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs20 Hello Shah,
\par
\par Thanks for your feedback.
\par
\par Based on your latest reply, I understand the updates of this issue are as follows:
\par
\par \pard{\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}{\*\pn\pnlvlblt\pnf1\pnindent0{\pntxtb\'B7}}\fi-360\li360 You have checked the account used to backup the SSPs. The account is named MOSS_SETUP_FARM. The account has the permissions as below:
\par \pard
\par \pard{\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}{\*\pn\pnlvlblt\pnf1\pnindent0{\pntxtb\'B7}}\fi-360\li720 Local administrators of both SharePoint servers;
\par {\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}Dbcreator, security admin roles in the database server;
\par {\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}Dbowner role on in the content database and SSP databases;
\par {\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}Full Control permission to the shared folder (\\\\mosswfe2\\sspbak).
\par \pard\li360
\par \pard{\pntext\f1\'B7\tab}{\*\pn\pnlvlblt\pnf1\pnindent0{\pntxtb\'B7}}\fi-360\li360 You have tried to backup the SSPs in the Central Administration site hosted on the server mosswfe1. The process failed with the following error message:
\par \pard\li360
\par "Directory \\\\mosswfe2\\sspbak does not exist or the SQL Server service account and the OUTSIDE\\MOSS_SETUP_FARM service account do not have permission to read or write to the backup folder. Specify a different directory."
\par \pard
\par According to the error message and the information you give, we need to check the issue using the following steps:
\par
\par 1. As the account used to backup the SSPs must be a member of the Farm Administrators group, please check if MOSS_SETUP_FARM is a farm administrator.
\par
\par \pard\li360 Although the MOSS_SETUP_FARM account acts dbowner roles of all the content databases and SSP databases, please note that the Full Control permission level on the SharePoint configuration database is also required. To have this permission, the account must be a member of the Farm Administrators group.
\par \pard
\par 2. If the issue still persists after Step 1, we need to check the backup logs to find more clues. The backup log is named spbackup.log at the UNC path you specified during the backup configuration. Please include the related information in the log file in your follow-up post.
\par
\par I'd like to provide further assistance once I receive the response from you. Thanks for all your cooperation and patience again.
\par
