Re: sharepoint anonymous access

I tried the solution on the link you provided before. It fails because it
can't find the xml file.

I'm not sure if the domain is the same for users and sharepoint. The users
are set up on the same server that the website resides on. Do I need to set
up users within the site itself?

I will have a few user names that will have access to contribute which will
be set up on the server where the website resides. Right now I am simply
working on anonymous users. I found several "guestlike" usernames on the
server. Is there a way to find out which one is used when a person views the
website?

Hello bgallacher,

It could be that users in other domain opens files from sharepoint domain.
In this case validation is obliged.

For other cases refer to this post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sharepointecm/thread/1514a41a-6733-430b-b3e2-07bcbcb63189/
