Actually, I'm running WSS3.0 but hopefully this shouldn't make a
difference.

Regarding permissions... I suppose the service account has the correct
permissions to create the Contacts in the Sharepoint AD OU, but not
delete? (I assume this since I can mail enable a folder and the
Contact will appear in the OU.) Even still, if I manually delete the
Contact, why would it have trouble re-creating it? Does it need the
delete right anywhere else?
