I really running into to troubles with incoming email and i just can't
figure out what the real problem is.
First off my system setup
Server 2003 R2

Sql server 2005 enterprise
nothing special at all
smtp service installed
* Bind on ip-adres
* Authentication - Anonymous
* Connection - All except list below
* relay - All except list below
Drop folder
* default C:inetpub\mailroot\drop
* Folder permissions set to modify for the application pool account
* This will set automatic the permission for sharepoint accounts
Dns
*Created new mx record based on servername
* nslookup everything goes fine
Active Directory
*Created new Organization Unit
*Delegate Control to application pool account with the following
rights
-Create, Delete, Manage users accounts
Sharepoint
* Operations -> Topology and Services
-> Incoming Mail
*Enable it
*Select Automatic Mode
*Directory Management Service -> yes
*Accept every e-mail ( not only from authenticated users)
*Almost everything will be automatic configured.
*Distribution Groups are allowed to created
And now the big issue.
If i want to create a new Document Library with incoming email support
i get a few errors like
* Error in Application
* The list have been made but Cannot Create e-mailalias: Error in
Application
* Directory Management Service: Access Denied ( This one solved to
give the user Write rights on the OU )
This will mean i cannot create any e-mail things in my sharepoint.
so somewhere somehow there goes something wrong but i can't figure out
where
Problem solved exchange server is required to make use of incoming
email with sharepoint services 3.0
.
