Re: WSS 2.0 to 3.0 upgrade

I don't know. I am starting all over again from scratch. I'm installing the
Windows 2003 server, the SQL Server, restoring from backup to WSS 2.0, then
try to attach to my 3.0 server again. I am starting to think Sharepoint is a
complete kludge.

What were the errors?

Hi All,

I think I am getting somewhere.....

I ran this command to attach my 2.0 contentDB to WSS 3.0:

STSADM -o addcontentdb -url http://MYSERVER -databaseserver
MYDATABASESERVER -databasename MYDATABASENAME

It took almost 15 minutes but completed successfully. I checked the
upgrade.log file and it only registered three errors, which isn't bad
considering the size of my database.

HOWEVER.....

When I go to Central Administration > Application Management > Content
Databases I am not seeing my database attached. If I try to attach it
here, I get an error saying to use the STSADM command!

So I am running in a circle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
