Re: Technet - 24hr guaranteed Microsoft response?

Right. So, I guess you are using the same alias to post on this thread as
you use for Technet?

And frankly, I've posted several times in the last six months with my
technet alias and never got a response from MS.

Yup, as a technet subscriber you get guaranteed 24 hr response from
Microsoft.

Most of the time it works, but not allways.

Your technet alias marks your post for answer by Microsoft.

It is kind of hit or miss, but the fact that MS responds, makes it
possible
to get a resolution from the newsgroup.

If you don't get an answer from your peers that could mean:
they have no idea themselves;
they think you should be able to figure this out yourself;
they are busy fixing problems themselves.

Why did you expect a 24 hour response? Are you here because of your
technet
subscription? If so are you using your technet alias? I was told I had
to
use my alias (back when I thought it would help <g>).

That is always something that has disappointed me about my technet
subscription; the fact that the much touted technet newsgroup support is
really just the public newsgroups. I have never understood how, exactly,
I
was supposed to get help that way-- and pay for the "privilege" with my
subscription.

If you're here because of technet, I feel your pain. Otherwise this is a
public newsgroup, which means it's mostly other IT people voluntarily
visiting to ask for help and give help to their peers. If we have never
experienced your problem or don't have any idea how to help you, we don't
respond to your post. It's kind of hit or miss. If I were you I
wouldn't
depend on responses here for anything time critical.
