Haven't come across this before, but from the look of it, it the
search service... but more specifically it could relate to your SSP >
search settings > scopes/crawl settings (access acc) or the account
the search service uses (CA > Ops > Services on server > Office
SharePoint Server Search Service Settings).
Check both areas. Reset passwords, make sure the scopes are correct.
I'd be interested to know what the cause was.

I am running MOSS '07 on a windows 2003 server. After troubleshooting and
rebuilding a portion of a site, the following error started coming up. It's
