I recently installed WSS 3.0 using the gradual upgrade. The site is
up
and running with a couple exceptions I've found...
I can't get it to backup using the centeral admin, the timer never
runs
I can't get search results, it never finds anything
It does send email, create sub sites, navigate, etc...
Overnight, when there shouldn't have been any users, I keep receiving
this error which I can only assume is coming from a failing timer...
any ideas??
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3
Event Category: Database
Event ID: 5586
Date: 5/23/2007
Time: 8:04:23 AM
User: N/A
Computer: STAGE01
Description:
Unknown SQL Exception 18452 occured. Additional error information
from
SQL Server is included below.
Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted
SQL Server connection.
For more information, see Help and Support Center
athttp://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Check the accounts used by the Central Administration application pool
(in IIS), and then check the accounts used by the various SharePoint
services (in MMC). I think the key ones are the Windows SharePoint
Serivces Administration, Windows SharePoint Serivces Search, and
Windows SharePoint Serivces Timer.
Make sure those accounts have appropriate access to the content and
configuration databases on the SQL server. (I think that's where the
problem is.)
the app pools for the admin site and the normal site are running under
domainname\admin
On another note, am I missing the Windows SharePoint Services Search
on this list because it's not operating properly?
Central Administration > Operations > Services on Server
Currently on the list (and running)
- Central Administration
- Windows SharePoint Services Help Search
- Windows SharePoint Services Web Application
yea yea.... I don't know what the deal is, it gives me a "please try
again later" but I know that's a LIE :) ha.
