SharePoint WSS V3 Issues

Hello,

I have a couple other issues i have found when working with WSS V3 and
I am wondering if anyone else has them as well and what they did to
resolve them.

Let me know if i should create seperate threads for each of these?

Our setup:

Windows 2003 Web Front End
Windows 2000 SQL Server SP3
Clients are all running IE 6 and Windows XP.

1. Using the upload button is terribly slow. I have tried uploading
a 1 meg file and it took around 50 seconds to upload. We tried a
little larger file. 4MB and it took around 3 minutes. If i go into
sharepoint via network places and copy and paste the file it is much
faster. How do i fix this so that either method is equally fast?

2. In our datasheets on our site we have a custom column created
doing a lookup on user information. When i click the arrow to display
the dropdown data it says "Loading" and never shows anything. A
couple of seconds later I will see in the bottom left corner of IE.
"Done with errors" I double click it and get the following:

Line: 9
Char: 4
Error: Permission denied
Code: 0
URL: ***URL TO VIEW IN QUESTION***

every 1 out of 10 times this will work just fine, but the other 9
times i get the above error. How is this fixed?

3. When I create a custom dropdown (Contains 3 choices) column in a
doc library and go into the data*** view and click the arrow to make
a choice. None of the choices are displayed. If i click on one of
the files in this library and Choose "Edit Properties" I see the
dropdown i created and it contains the 3 choices given. Why doesn't
this show up when I try and edit it in a data*** view?
