Hello all,
I have been fighting this for a couple days and I am at a loss right
now to what is wrong. I have a site that was backed up using STSADM.
The site contains 3 sub-sites and the backup file is about 2.5 GB. I
have moved it another box to restore, but I keep getting the error:
The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists,
please make
sure the content databases are available and have sufficient free
space.
I am runnng wss v3.0 in an distributed environment with WSS on one box
and SQL 2005 on another. The C: drives on both boxes have about 6gb
free and the d: drives have at least 20gb free. I have check my
content db in sql and the mdf is set to unlimited growth. The ldf is
set to only 2gb, but each time I change it, it reverts back to 2gb.
Since that is the log file I don't think that is causing the issue,
but odd nonetheless.
I am not sure what else to check to help me figure this out.
Any thoughts?
Greg
I've never run into this but I'm sure the backup files are compressed
and likely heavily compressed (text compresses quite well).
Additionally, the expansion itself requires some multiple of disk
space in order to deflate properly. I know this isn't the answer you
you were looking for but I ope it help just the same.
