Steps to remove store permissions for a user

I am having trouble with a user who after some Site Group change, no
longer can access certain areas of our intranet. I had him login
using a different PC and everything works fine. So I'm sure the
problem is on his PC.
I've searched and found a number of different suggestions about how to
clear cached credentials but I could not find a definitive list or a
MS KB article.
Here's what we have tried:
* Remove site from list of trusted sites
* Deleted cookies
* Removed user from Site Collection users (at top level) and readded
him
None of this has worked.
Can anyone offer suggestions of other actions or specific MS KB's to
review?
This is a WSS 2.0 system.
