Access SharePoint from console on server

Howdy,

I have two very different scenarios but the same issue occuring. First
scenario: Win2k3 SBS Pre running a WSS site using the existing installed
setup and files, not companyweb, but a another setup. Second scenario:
Win2k3 SP1 running WSS is installed in AD Creation Mode. Both servers I can
access the wss site from client PCs, however when trying to access them from
the console, I get the login prompt three times and blamo, errors:

HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid
credentials.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Any ideas? I'm using the same login credientals in both cases (lient pc vs
server console).

Thanks
