Thanks for your quick response. I've tried this on IE 6 and 7, both with the
latest updates applied, and with Firefox. Firefox also gives me an "Error:
Access Denied" message. There are no group policies in place that I would
expect to affect downloads.

Do you have any suggestions?

The problem is, as Mike pointed out, that it appears you can upload DWT
files, but you can't download them unless you're using Explorer View.
If the file type was blocked, you would not be able to upload the files
either.
Which version of IE are you using?
Do you have the latest patches applied?
Have you tried another browser such as Firefox to eliminate IE from the
equation?
Do you have Group Policies in place that might be affecting downloads?

I am trying to download files with a DWT extension (AutoCAD template files)
from a document library set up on a WSS2.0 site. When I click on these

or choose Save Target As, I get a 403 Forbidden error. From what I can
gather, this is due to a sad coincidence that the extension DWT is used
also
by FrontPage Dynamic Web Templates, and WSS blocks these by default. Does
anyone know a way to allow downloading of DWT files from SharePoint sites?
