WSS 2.0 does not have any limit on the number of users.
Neither does Windows 2003 Server.
Neither does SQL Server 2K
I'd look at something else if I were you.
- how exactly they are logging in (domainname\username)
- if they are coming to the site from different locations
- if Citrix is involved (or similar)
etc.

Hi all,
I have a customer that has intermittent problems when logging on to a
WSS site root. There are 100 users setup in the site collection and
every now and then users get asked for credentials and then denied
access to the site itself.
Is it possible that either:
1. Wss has a limit of the number of users that can access the site
(there are no quota restrictions setup or anything fancy)
2. Windows 2003 has a limit on the number of concurrent users
3. SQL server (which is setup on another box, not MSDE but SQL 2000
proper, but running in an instance inside sql2k) has a limit on the
number of concurrent users
I would appreciate any pointers/help on this topic.
Thanks in advance.
Sergio
