It's there for two days and the two days ends at midnight (so will
usually be less than two days)

amend it (to zero or another number of days ending at midnight) by
using the statement in this KB article

(replace the 0 after -pv with the number of days)

Seems like the new-splash is there regardless of how old the
announcement actually is...
