Re: Saving document on WSS

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Different Office versions on the different clients ?

(less than Office XP and Save to site doesn't work; also if the client is
running Windows 2K and not XPPro there might be things that don't work )

Hi All,

I am facing a weird problem with WSS2.0 . When some of users in my
organization try to save any document on document library they donot
find option to save it on site. They get option to save in local
machine only. Below is the steps to get it
1. Edit document in microsoft word.
2. Change it.
3. Save (or even in Save as) it.
4. the option it shows in just to save the doument in local machine
not on portal. there is no browse option. This is normal window when
user tries to save any local document on machine.A normal "save as"
dialoge box opens.

Seems this is machine's problem, as when the same user browse the
site from diefferent machine it worked as expected (it gives option to
save on WSS site) but when he tries from his machine, it didn't work.

Any help in this is most welcome.

regards
Ruchi
