Re: STSadm Restore, not resetting Site confirmation/deletion settings

So for the benefit of the rest of us, would you mind answering the
question?

How does one reset the trigger date(s) or otherwise prevent
re-deletion of the site after restore?

My point if you like was that if you going to accept users not confirming
after receiving 4 requests but still having the right to retain a site is
that you might just as well make the delete configuration to after (say)
five years (= a very long time) and solve the problem that way.

You are already in effect accepting permanent non-deletable sites, you are
just through the 180 days limit giving yourself unnecessary work.

There's no need of an alert fix if you solve the problem through "social
engineering".

I appreciate your response, however, teaching the customer's a lesson
was really not the answer I was looking for, nor an acceptible practice
in my organization. I know that the timer service is responsible for
triggering these alerts, so would a simple restart of that service
reset it. Or, is there somewhere in the configuration where I can
manually change the date that Sharepoint recognizes when the site was
created.

Why renew them at all ?

Four notices ought to be way enough. Let a few sites stay deletde and the
users might start confirming.

This way you're condemned to have to permanently put up with this kind of
thing.

(Make an exception for the md/ceo !)

We have Sharepoint configured to automatically delete sites after 180
days and 4 notices that go unconfirmed. However, we have ran into a
few instances where users have not confirmed their sites for whatever
reason, therefore they are deleted. I have not had any problem
restoring them using Stsadm, but once restored, the sites are again
deleted within a couple days without resending a site confirmation
alert. Does anyone know how to reset this counter?
