I guess we can enable this setting thru a GPO Policy so that we dont
have to change this setting on everyone's PC. Also do you know why
when a user tries to do something that he doesnt have access to for
instance a reader tries to creates a document library it still ask the
user for a password then if he clicks on cancel he gets the error
access denied which is ok is just that the user thinks he needs to
place his password again and again until they lock the account.

Users do not have to input domainname\username with integrated
authentication if their IE is set as follows.
Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level and then right at the end of
the list set Login to "Automatic Login with current user name and password"

Folks,
I have installed sharepoint services on a 2003 web server. I have
created sites and assign users rights based on their roles
(contributors, reader etc). If I use basic authentications users dont
have to input the domain name lgihome\username how can I default the
domain name to LGIHOME if i use integraded authentication. Also when a
users tries to do a task that he/she does not have permissions to do
they get prompted for a user name and password and when they click on
cancel they get the You do not have permissions, how can I fix the
prompting for the password and just direct them to that you do not have
permissions page. If they keep putting their password accounts in AD
get locked out. Please help
.
