There's also an MS paper on moving from WMSDE to SQL Server *2005*
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA100363461033.aspx
it may help.

I have followed the SharePoint Admin directions for moving the site.
They don't work. I found directions on How to change the application
pool identity which worked a little better but when I change the
application pool identitiy to a domain admin account I can no longer
access the SharePoint site. If I don't change the application pool and
leave that to network services I can't connect to the remote DB? Does
anyone have directions that work to move from a current MSDE Database
to a Remote SQL DB? Thanks.
