Re: Login problems

If it works at a different workstation it wouldn't seem that the problem is
the server, as that hasn't changed, only the workstation has. On one that
doesn't work, go to Control Panel -> Users -> Advanced -> Manage Passwords
and remove any entries for the server in question. See if that helps.

I have an odd problem that appears on our network at times.

I have a windows 2003 server running sharepoint services 2.0. I have the
entire site set for integrated authentication (active directory), and
everything works as it should. we have well over 20-30 different sites on
the
server and all users are automatically authenticated through the browser
with
their existing active directory login on their windows workstation (all
running xp /sp2)

All users are using IE 6.x as their browser.

the problem I run into at times is for no apparent reasons, sometimes
users
begin to constantly be prompted by sharepoint to login. their account is
not
locked out, there are no changes made to the browser settings, and if they
attemp to login using their Domain\username and password, it simply
doesn't
accept it.

But what's odd is I can take that user, have them log into a different
workstation, and they have no problems getting into the site. It just
seems
to randomly happen across various users specific workstations. there is no
rhyme or reason for it.

I have tried and tried and tried looking everywhere to figure out what
causes this. it seems to me as if the sharepoint server is doing some type
of
username/password caching, and when a user 30-day password expiration
crops
up, they change it, but sharepoint no longer wants to accept it. any known
issues with sharepoint services synchronizing with AD services from the
domain controllers and pulling current username/password information?

any help is appreciated!
