Re: page logo image change

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Yes it will change the logo for all sites. This is a global change....
Remember though..... each type of site has a different logo so the one for a
team site wont be the same as the one for a portal and so on.

Will that change the icons for all sites on the server, or just the one I
am
working on? For example, I have created a portal site for our intranet, a
seperate site for the IT group, and a third site for a specific job. I
would
like the intranet to have our company logo where the sharepoint page logo
resides, I would like the IT group to show it's logo, and the job site to
have a third logo. It seems to me that this solution will change the logo
for all sites. Am I correct, or am I missing something?

Thank you!

Go into the \60\Template\Images folder. Make a copy of that folder and
save
it somewhere. Then go find the Icon you want to change ie. HOME.GIF
This
is the icon that resides on the left hand upper corner of the site page
where the Page Title resides. Take your GIF you want to use.... rename
the
original home.gif and Replace the name of YOUR GIF to HOME.GIF. Pretty
simple.

You will find some drawbacks to this. You may go into a Document Library
and your new GIF wont be there or a Custom WebPartPage.... same deal.
You
will have to find each icon and replace it. Its kind of a hassle but
this
will avoid any frontpage issues.

Hello. I am looking for a way to update the page logo icon on all
pages
of a
site, without using Frontpage. I've found all of the CSS classes that
they
belong to, and I can go in and edit each page manually in Frontpage,
but I
would like to find out what file feeds the logo to each page. In other
words, I would like my custom page logos to appear on each page in my
site.
There are other portal sites that I do not want to affect, so this has
to
be
on a per site basis.

Thanks!
