If you had WSS running without SP1

If you had WSS running without SP1 and now want to use the database with
WSS
SP1 it can't happen since the database structure is different.
But you can try and go to the central administration page of Sharepoint
and
defyning a different content database for your new site.
Central Administration page > Configure virtual server settings > Manage
content databases > Add database > "sts_server2_1" > Ok > Click on the
database that was already there and at the bottom of the page check
'remove
content database' > ok
That's it :)

Greetings, I have a bit of a mess and before starting anew I thought I'd
give the experts a go. I had a nicely functioning SPS site until I tried
to
upgrade my SBS server to SP1. The upgrade failed, as did the backout.
Apparently my backup did not include system state so I could not recover.
Since then I've rebuilt the SBS and installed SP1 as well as SQL Server.
I
have the
following data files available:
----.STS_config.mdf
----.STS_config.log.ldf
----.sts_server2_1.mdf
----.sts_server2_1.log.ldf
I've created a new SharePoint site on SQL Server with a name of
httP://companyweb/default.asp which is different from the old one.
My question is .. can i import these files into the new site and get
back
to where I was?
FYI, I'm running SBS2003, SQL Server
Thanks, in advance for the help.
Mike
