Add additional site to Account Creation Mode

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I have 2 issues here...

1. I was able to successfully setup my WSS server using a separate SQL
Server (Server Farm) in Account Creation Mode. I used the STSADM
command-line tool for this. However - now when I go to my site after
rebooting the server - I am unable to login with the credentials that
were emailed to me. I get HTTP 401.1 errors (invalid credentials).
Another user gets the same errors so I know this isn't user input
error. Any ideas?

2. Since I have the above problem - I wanted to create an additional
site to overcome problem 1 (I set up WSS in Scalable Hosting Mode using
the command line). However - after creating the site in ISS and adding
the host name to the host file (for testing purposes), rebooting, and
then running the stsadm command (stsadm -o createsite -url
<http://www.adatum.com> -owneremail <example.com>). I get the
following error: "The virtual server that is referenced here is not in
the config database". This is somewhat understandable - but the WSS2.0
Admin guide does not mention having to extend each separate site I want
to have up for scalable hosting. Does someone know the actual steps
needed here?

Thanks much for any guidance - as the documentation seems to be
lacking.

Dave
