Re: Removal of "type" "Name" and "Modified By"

Oh, that was what he meant :)

Note to Steve: A good idea is to create a special view just for the use of
the web part on a page. Compared to the normal view of a list it will
usually have only a few rows visible (I use 6-10 rather than the typical
hundred of the All Documents view) in addition to less fields as suggested
by Adam.

Give it a name that indicates it is for a WebPartPage.

Drag the web part to the page. At this point you will have the current
default view for the list (often All Documents). You will need to modify the
web part and then select from the drop-down (at present showing "Current
View") your special view.

If you at any stage amend your webpartpage View you will need to repeat the
above amendment. (Modify will show "Current View" which until changed is the
look you asked for last time).

It's easy but tricky in the implementation - hence the details above.

If you are just adding the webpart to the page, you can simply take those
fields out of the view.

Hi,

When a document library is added to a page:

"type" "Name" and "Modified By" is visable

is there a way to get rid of this?

I heard CAML needs to be used - is there an easier way at all?

Any ideas gratefully accepted...
