External and Internal accesses for the WSS sites

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,
Our WSS site could be accessed by two types of guys.
1. Internal users.
2. External users.

Internal users want to access the sites by the NTLM credentials.
and the external users will be prompted for the user name and the
password.

but both the users will be seeing the same data.

What would be the best solution for this problem?
Could we have two sites one for the internal users and the other for
the external users.
both ultimately pointing to the same DB.

Any inputs will be highly appriciated.

Regards,
Mayank Goyal
