Re: Help me backup WMSDE database ...

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Register the DB using "MACHINENAME\SHAREPOINT"

Or, just use STSADM to do your SharePoint backups... Check the administrator's guide for more details...

Hi Folks,

To back up WMSDE database using Client tools SQL Server. I've
installed the SQL Server client tools. Then when I would like to
create new SQL server registration in Enterprise Manager, it failed
with error message the server doesn't exists or access denied.

For information, I use the Window authentication for the SQL Server
Registration.

When the first time installed WSS, I put the database in D:\wssdata,
Inside that folder there is MSSQL$SHAREPOINT folder. Can I just keep a
copy of this folder to backup WMSDE database.

Can you guys help me with any solution ? Or if anyone has the same
problem and has the solution, please provide me with the link.

Thank you ... Any help will be very much appreciated

Regards,
Tjendarta Ho
