Error when using the Outlook Address Book button to Add Users to WSS

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

We have a workstation that is receiving the following error after it
attempts to do the initial install of the Office component:
"To use this feature you must have an address book compatible
with
Windows SharePoint Services and you must have Internet
Explorer 5 or greater"

The machine does have the latest IE and Office 2003 installed on it.
The component that it attempts to install never seems to get installed
so I am wondering if the error message is misleading and it has
something to do with a problem during the installation...
