Re: Alerts not sent in WSS

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

This isn't my particular area but this might help you. (This is for a server
with both WSS and SQL server and both are on theserver)

1. Open Enterprise Manager and under SQL Server look for the Security
directory. Open the Logins directory below that and you'll see the names of
accounts that have rights to access the master table.

2. Go to Programs / Adminsitration Tools / Services and right click on
SharePoint Timer Services and then on Properties. This will give you the
login information (in my case NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK)

what you need to do is see that the two (1. and 2.) match.

If not I suppose you can either select in 2. one of the accounts that
already have rights or add a new account to 1. which is the same as that
used in 2. I suspect the first is easier.

Note that these are just ideas and what I would be looking at if I had the
problem myself and no access to an SQL specialist.
