Re: Missing Menus

I must be doing something seriously wrong. I totally rebuilt the server,
and tried again, and I still have no menus. I must be missing something.
Here are the steps I take:

1. Install W23, with IIS, yadda yadda yadda
2. Install WSS with remotesql=yes option
3. After installation, it prompts for a new application pool, at which
point I create a new one.
4. Then it prompts for an IIS reset.
5. Then it prompts for a remote database connection, which finishes with no
errors (and the databases get created on the SQL server)
6. Then I create a new site in IIS, then go extend it with Sharepoint.
7. I extend and create a content database
8. I use the existing App pool (which I created in step 3)
9. Specify site owner and email
10. Leave Database information as is
11. No custome URL or Quota template.
12. It then extends with no errors. I attach to it with IE, and it prompts
for a template (and I can already see that the menu items are not there).

I assume I am doing something wrong, as when I install with MSDE everything
works correctly. I asssume that is because the Sharepoint setup does
everything in such a circumstance.

I appreciate any help you can give.
