If your doclib inherits site-level permissions, you don't have to assign
your new site group to it. But if you modified the library permissions
before this group was created, it won't propagate to the library. So the
easiest way to resolve your problem is to enable permission inheritance for
the library. Go to Modify Settings and Columns / Change permissions for this
document library and click Inherit permissions from the parent web site.
