Hi Wei-Dong;
I've outlined the exact problem here:
1. Navigate to a page such as <site name>\Topics\location.
2. Selcet "Manage Content" option under "Actions".
3. Under Documents and Lists, click "Create".
4. Scroll down to "Custom Lists" click on "Import
Spead***".
5. On this form I enter the Name and then location of the
Excel spread***. (xls file). (The file has been saved
without interactivity.)
6. Then I click Import.
7. The file opens and then I receive an error
message "Microsoft Forms - Cannot load object because it
is not loaded on this machine". I click okay, then the
message appears a second time. I click okay again and the
Import diaglog box opens. Once I select the range of
cells to import and click okay I receive a second error
message "Compile Error, Variable not defined" and debugger
opens. I click Okay and close debugger.
8. Then I receive error "Unexpected error. -2147352567".

The server has been rebuilt fresh. It is running Windows
2003 Standard server. It has MS Office 2003 professional
installed, with MS SQL 2000. All service packs, hotfixes
and updates (as of 2/2/05) have been installed.

This behavior occurs on both the client system and the
server.

If I attempt this directly on the server, and uplaod the
spread*** to the document library first and then run the
import action (only on the server) it works okay.

I'm pretty baffled at this point.

Any help would be great. We are currenly planning on
deploying SPS 2003 in May, if I can show my boss that
these issues can be addressed/worked around.

Thanks
Lance
