Setting picture properties when adding multiple images into an picture library

I am wondering if there is any easy way to set properties
(user-defined fields) for many images at the same time, when adding
multiple images into an picture library on my Sharepoint site. It is
quite laborious to set the properties to all files one by one...

Maybe there are some Web Parts which could help with this, and maybe
also other tasks related to managing picture libraries?
