I think that 300000 throughout the entire site is probably OK but I imagine
you would have to divide them up in many different forms libraries.
I'm fairly sure there's a limit to the number of documents per library
somewhere. I have about 500 as my max which is no problem (so the limit's
higher).
It might be that you need more than one content database too to cope. (That
capacity paper is looking a better choice by the minute)
This paper includes capacity planning
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/office/sps2003/downloads/msidwnld.mspx
but it's not the one I'm really looking for.
There's this webcast
http://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/EventDetail.aspx?EventID=1032241882&Culture=en-US
TechNet Webcast: Planning and Sizing a SharePoint Portal Server 2003
Implementation - Level 200
(which also isn't).
The one I'm looking for is an SPS 2003 paper by Kimmo Forss - maybe you can
find it yourself. It's been referred to here recently (so Google Groups
Advanced Search) and its an MSDN paper if I remember right.
