You will loose all existing local user accounts when
upgrading to a DC. You will also have to uninstall
WSS/IIS and reinstall to get WSS to work. Because WSS
stores users ACL's, doing a data base backup/restore will
not work as the user accounts will no longer exist so you
should use smigrate to backup and restore without
including permissions (only works if the wss site has
less than 2Gb of data).
