I'm not saying this is the reason in your case, but when you see different
results when porting to one version of the address rather than the other, it
often is that one version of the address is regarded by IE as Intranet (or
Trusted) with its permissions and the other version is regarded as Internet
with its more limited permissions.

Worth checking at least.
