Thanks for the information!

I am trying to evaluate Sharepoint services to see
whether it can be used for our document management
application where user can check in a file, check out a
file and modify the file then check back in again. The
file type can be .exe, .zip, .jpg etc. I still don't
understand how to check out a file, say a .exe, to my
local drive and make some changes to it then check back in
again (I have tried using check in function but it does
not prompt me for the location of the updated file and
happily reported that the file has been checked in
successfully). I can use "save as" to get a copy but then
how to I check it back in?

I think I have a lot of reading to do, if anyone of you
can point me to some books or resources on how to do that,
I would really appreciate it. Hopefully I get some
response before I pull all my hairs off :-)
