Upgrading TFS WSS 2.x to WSS 3.0

For internal reasons, we need to upgrade our Team WSS to WSS 3.0 but I have
afraid of being trapped with unkwown dependencies between the two.
Can it be done?
Is it recommended? Documented? (need to par attention to some specific Team
stuff?)
