Exchange 2003 public folder/Document Library integration

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I am trying to setup Exchange 2003 public folder (mail enabled) and have a
SharePoint document library automatically "import" the attachments from this
public folder. I have followed the
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sppt/reskit/c4161881x.mspx
article and documents are not importing. I granted the 'SharePoint timer'
service account rights as specified on the public folder. There are no
errors in the event log or any other log files I can find that would help
explain why the documents are not being imported. The SharePoint and
exchange servers are in the same domain and see each other with no problems.
What obvious thing am I missing? The exchange 2003 server w/sp2 and
SharePoint portal 2003 with sp1/wss 2.0 w/sp1. Any input would be
appreciated. It looks easy but isn't working.
