This is the newsgroup (as the title says) for Sharepoint Team Services which
came out in 2001.
The latest version - Windows SharePoint Services - has its newsgroup at
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices
please post WSS questions there.
(When you do so describe exactly how you are installing WSS and what else is
installed on the same server - also describe your IIS specification)
