sp2001 and IE link display conundrum

I have a link issue of sorts with sp2001 or IE. I use a link from
Favorites in IE6 to get to my spst home page. When I access the home
page this way, some of the links on my spts home page do not work
correctly. Insted of showing the page that the url says is being
displayed, the spts home page is shown. A temporary fix is to delete
the link from Favorites, re-add the link to Favorites, restart IE and
return to the spts home page at which time the links work correctly.
We have had some luck with changing security setting in IE but nothing
is permenant. It seams to me to be a sort of cache issue. I hope this
is clear enough. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
