It sounds like you are using Windows Sharepoint Services, not Sharepoint
Team Services. STS does not have a "Sharepoint Central Administration" page,
nor does it operate under application pools. Since WSS and STS use different
search mechanisms, you may want to direct your question to the
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices newsgroup.
