Re: SharePoint Search - Showing items it shouldn't be.

Go back to using host headers and remove the port numbers in your URLs.
That is the best way to resolve this issue, IMHO.

I have a MOSS site that is showing results it shouldn't be in the
intranet. They should be able to see results on the extranet but the
path is showing up in the results where it shouldn't be. No matter
what I do I can't get rid of the results showing 8003. Is this
because I have a custom mapping for the forms based search?

Example.

User signed into https://intranet.server.com searches "United Kingdom"
and the results come back with

United Kingdom
http://intranet.server.com:8003/sites/country/uk -

The Default Search Shared Services are set to:

Content Source :
Start Addresses
http://server:36240/ <-Extended for site 8003 (Forms Based Auth)
https://intranet.server.com/ <- Intranet outside of the network
https://intranet.server.com:8001/ <- Intranet for 8003 in network
(Employee's view into 8003)
https://intranet.server.com:8002/ <- MySite
sps3://intranet.server.com:8002/ <- MySite

Crawl Settings
Crawl everything under the hostname for each start address.

Forms Based Auth is on port 8003 and not included in the search scopes
but 36240 is extended so the server can get around FBA.

In My Rules
http://intranet.server.com:8003 set to exclude all items in the path
and to use the default

.
