You need to make sure which featues of SQL server you need.

There is no need in Enterprise Edition to cluster anymore because Standard edition could be used in a 2 node cluster.

I doubt if it matters for MOSS or Proj Server 2007. I'd instead concentrate on the purely SQL Server 2005 differences and see if they are going to annoy you if you don't have them all.

(For instance - going back in time - if you needed Enterprise to cluster your databases, then that would be the SQL Server reason even if SP/PS was in the end the appl using that function.)

If my client does not want the scalability or more than 4 cpus, is there any advantage going with SQL 2005 Enterprise? What would I be missing with the standard edition? Our environment will be MOSS and Project Server 2007.
