About 2 months ago, the Alerts stopped being sent for all sites.
However,
the original creation e-mails were working. Also, other e-mails are
being
sent via webparts to the same mail server. While were were debugging,
the
ops team installed the latest MS patches and the machines were
restarted.
The alerts started working.
Now, the alerts stopped again. We restarted all servers, but no luck.
The
initial messages are being sent but not the timed alerts. Can anyone
shed
some light on how to debug the alerts - can I tell if they are being
created
and sent to the mail server? Can I tell if the timer service is
actually
working?
SPS 2003 on W2003 SP1 with latest patches for windows and sps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For clarity when you state the alerts are not working do mean they and
not being sent or not being generated?
For example are there alerts in the alerts queue?- Hide quoted text -
