SPSAlert Service will not start

Hi,

I have Sharepoint 2003, and the alerts were all working fine, but all
of a sudden the Alerts would not work.

I noticed that the SPSAlert service was not started, and no matter
what i tried to get it started it just wont.

The service Account that is used to start this service has the
Administrator privelages on the server, and i am sure that the
password is ok, as the SPStimer Service also uses the same account,
and starts without any problems

Any Suggestions
