I can't seem to find that newsgroup... Its not on the list that I can see here... Will check again....
but providing you are using MOSS 2007 (or SPS 2003) this old newsgroup is OK instead.
(In both cases you should say which SP product and version you have - there because the newsgroup is for all SP products and versions; here to see whether it's SPS 2003 or MOSS 2007 [here it's clear from the message that its a V3 product])
Its sharepoint server 2007 on a 64 bit Windows 2003 R2 machine.
Since I posted that I've found the diagnostic logs from sharepoint, but it doesn't appear to be much help tracking it down further...

There are loads of other medium errors, but I think I can ignore those for now, as this problem might be causing them....

After installing sharepoint on our server and rebooting there is an error appearing several times a second in the application logs... I can't seem to find any information on this error...
