Re: IP to URL

IIS is already configured as you described.

I am reaching the server over the lan.
Any other ideas?

Hi there,

Thanks for posting here.

I find your issue is that when you use http://servername to open the SPS
site, you will be redirect to http://ipaddress. If you are using
http://servername/index.apsx, It works.

Please let me know if I am off base.

First please verify if this behavior occurs on when you access site in
Company LAN or from the Internet. If this issue occurs in LAN, please check
the IIS settings, since this setting is controlled in IIS. Please Open IIS
and go to the Properties of the SPS web site, click Documents and click
Enable default content page. Please move default.aspx to the first order
and test the issue again.

Hope it helps. Have a great day!

I had setup a MOSS site and at first was using the IP address of the
server.
Now I have a domain name. When I open a browser using the URL
(http://myrul.xyz for example) it finds the site but then forwards to the
IP
address requiring me to re-authenticate and all navigation is based off
that
number. The only exception is when I put http://myrul.xyz/default.aspx it
will keep the correct URL and I only authenticate once.

Anyone know how I can stop http://myurl.xyz from forwarding to
http://ip.ip.ip.ip?

Thanks

.
